Community Involvement
Stakeholder Committee and Civic Advisory Group
Civic Advisory Group
The Civic Advisory Group (CAG) members represent citizens at large from various community and civic groups. The CAG’s roles and responsibilities include the dissemination of project information, providing feedback from groups or constituents to LMEC and the LRX project team, and building consensus on project and project decisions.
Stakeholder Committee
The Stakeholder Committee (SC) members represent the “governmental side” of the LRX region. The SC’s roles and responsibilities include the dissemination of project information, providing technical input as appropriate, providing feedback from governmental entities (MPO, LCG, parish governments, etc.) and constituents to LMEC and LRX project team, and building consensus on project and project decisions.
Community Meetings
Public involvement is a vital component in the development of the Lafayette Regional Xpressway. Through this process, local residents have an opportunity to get involved in the study and play an essential role in the future of transportation improvements in this region.
Decisions made during the study will affect transportation in the Lafayette region for years to come. Participation throughout the study process is welcomed and encouraged.
